• Use Flovent Inhaler as instructed by your physician. Examine the label on the medication container for exact directions on dosing.

• If required, prime the inhaler as indicated by the instructions in the additional patient leaflet.
• For optimal results, the canister must be at room temperature prior to use.
• Prior to using Flovent Inhaler, be certain that the canister is appropriately inserted in the inhaler unit. Shake thoroughly prior to each use. Breathe out slowly and fully. Position the mouthpiece between the lips and attempt to have your tongue rest flat, unless your physician directs you otherwise. Your physician may have instructed you to hold the inhaler 2 or 3 centimeters (i.e.: 1 or 2 inches) away from your open mouth or you may have been instructed to utilize a special spacing device. As you begin to take a slow deep breath, push the mouthpiece and canister together at the same exact time. Doing this will release the dose of Flovent Inhaler. Remain breathing in deeply and slowly and hold your breath for as long as you feel comfortable to do so, and then breathe out gradually through your nose or pursed lips. If multiple inhalations are to be taken, wait a few minutes and then repeat the steps indicated above. Avoid spraying your eyes.
